The organisers disclosed this during a press conference held at Redemption Family Church, Ijokodo, Ibadan, where the Chief Host of the programme, Matthew Oluwajoba, explained that the intervention forms part of the organisation’s “three-in-one” programme.

According to him, the initiative combines a Leadership Repositioning Conference, a medical outreach and the donation of medical equipment to health institutions.

Oluwajoba said the programme is inspired by the organisation’s guiding principle that service to humanity represents service to God.

“This is a worldwide meeting, and according to our motto, service to humanity is service to God. We are passionate about humanitarian services, particularly in supporting those who are genuinely in need,” he said.

He noted that the programme has been running for over two decades, recalling that a similar camp was organised in 2023 at the Liberty Stadium.

According to him, this year’s edition will feature a Leadership Repositioning Conference scheduled to hold at the University of Ibadan International Conference Centre with the theme “Grace to Grace.”

The conference, he explained, is aimed at equipping leaders in ministries, government institutions, communities and organisations with the knowledge and values required to effectively discharge their responsibilities.

“Our objective is to ensure that leaders are properly equipped and understand their responsibilities. Some leaders have lost their direction and we want to help reposition them,” he said.

Also speaking at the briefing, the Director of Global Network in Ibadan, Francis Adesola, revealed that between 1,600 and 1,700 participants had already registered through a pre-registration process for the medical charity programme.

He added that additional participants who may attend the outreach would be accommodated through reserved access cards on the day of the programme.

Adesola disclosed that the outreach would involve about 30 doctors, 30 nurses and 10 pharmacists, alongside laboratory technicians and dentists who will provide treatment for ailments such as hypertension, blood sugar-related conditions and other health challenges.

He further noted that nearly 500 eyeglasses would be distributed to beneficiaries during the outreach.

As part of the intervention, the organisation will also donate medical equipment to the University College Hospital, Ibadan, including a 40-foot container of medical supplies aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery.

Director for Crusade and Charity, Covenant Oluwajoba, said the organisation has put in place follow-up mechanisms to ensure that the donated equipment is properly utilised.

He explained that the outreach initiative was inspired by a tragic incident in 2010 involving a church member whose relative died after being unable to raise ₦5,000 for medical treatment.

“We started this outreach after I was moved by the story of a member whose relative died because the family could not afford ₦5,000 for treatment,” he said.

The organisation said the programme aligns with its broader vision of promoting welfare support and strengthening healthcare capacity through humanitarian services.
