KolaDaisi University, Ibadan, has announced plans to hold its 9th Matriculation Ceremony for newly admitted students of the 2025/2026 academic session on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., within the university campus.
The ceremony, which will take place at Agbeke Hall, is designed to formally admit fresh students into the university community and mark the official commencement of their academic journey at the institution. During the event, students will take the matriculation oath, symbolising their acceptance of the university’s rules, values, and academic culture.
According to a statement from the university’s Public Relations Unit, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adeniyi Olatumbosun, SAN, will preside over the ceremony on behalf of the University Senate. He will formally welcome the new students and administer the matriculation rites, in line with established academic tradition.
A major highlight of the ceremony will be the Matriculation Lecture, to be delivered by Dr. Felix Ijeh, a renowned economist, policy analyst, certified educator, and youth development advocate.
Dr. Ijeh will speak on the theme, “Discipline, Knowledge, and Leadership,” with the lecture topic titled, “Beyond Admission: What It Truly Means to Be a University Student.”
The lecture is expected to inspire newly admitted students by exposing them to the values, responsibilities, and expectations associated with university education, while also preparing them for leadership roles in society.
Dr. Ijeh is an accomplished professional with close to two decades of experience spanning the financial sector, academia, and public policy engagement. His expertise in youth development and educational advocacy has earned him recognition as a leading voice in shaping responsible and forward-looking young Nigerians.
The matriculation ceremony remains a significant academic tradition at KolaDaisi University and reflects the institution’s commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and character development. Under the leadership of Prof. Olatumbosun, SAN, the university has continued to prioritise discipline, innovation, and leadership training in line with global best practices.
The management noted that the event underscores its vision of producing graduates who are not only intellectually sound but also morally upright and socially responsible, capable of competing favourably at both national and international levels.
Members of the University Governing Council, Management, Senate, academic and non-academic staff, parents, guardians, and other invited guests are expected to grace the occasion.
The university expressed optimism that the ceremony would further strengthen the bond between students and the institution, while setting a strong foundation for academic excellence and personal development throughout their period of study.
