Aborisade Meets Grassroots Leaders in Egbeda, Harps on Inclusive Governance

Leading governorship aspirant  of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Oyo State, Chief Niyi Aborisade, has held a strategic meeting with grassroots leaders in  Ward 11 of Egbeda Local Government Area of Oyo State, reaffirming his commitment to inclusive governance and people-oriented leadership.

The meeting, which took place on Monday in Egbeda, brought together party executives, ward leaders, community stakeholders, and youth representatives, as part of efforts to strengthen political structures and deepen grassroots participation ahead of future political engagements.

Aborisade, who addressed participants alongside the ADC Egbeda Local Government Chairman, Mr. Funsho Owoade, described grassroots mobilisation as the foundation of effective democratic leadership. He noted that sustainable development could only be achieved when political actors remain closely connected to the needs and aspirations of the people at the community level.

According to him, Ward 11, being one of the strategic wards in Egbeda Local Government, occupies a vital position in shaping the political direction of the area. He commended party members in the ward for their dedication and loyalty, urging them to remain steadfast and united.

“Politics must begin from the grassroots. When the people are carried along, governance becomes meaningful and impactful. Our mission is to build a structure that listens to the people and works for their welfare,” Aborisade said.

He stressed the importance of internal democracy, transparency, and accountability within political parties, adding that the ADC was committed to promoting credible leadership and ethical political practices.

Aborisade also outlined his vision for Egbeda Local Government, which he said centres on youth empowerment, improved primary healthcare, rural infrastructure development, and enhanced educational opportunities. The human rights lawyer promised to continue engaging stakeholders across wards to develop policies that reflect community priorities.

In his remarks, the ADC Egbeda Local Government Chairman, Mr. Funsho Owoade, praised Aborisade for his consistent engagement with party members and community leaders. He described the meeting as timely and strategic, noting that it would further consolidate the party’s presence at the grassroots level.

Owoade urged party faithful to remain committed to unity and discipline, stressing that collective effort was essential for achieving electoral success and delivering good governance.

Participants at the meeting, including ward executives and youth leaders, expressed optimism about the party’s growing influence in Egbeda. They commended Aborisade for his accessibility and willingness to listen to their concerns.

Some community representatives called for sustained engagement on issues such as unemployment, insecurity, poor road networks, and access to social services, urging political leaders to translate campaign promises into concrete actions.

The interactive session featured deliberations on party organisation, membership mobilisation, and strategies for strengthening the ADC’s grassroots network. Resolutions were also reached on improving communication between ward executives and local government leadership.
