The ceremonies, scheduled for December 8–14, 2025, will feature academic engagements, research exhibitions, sporting events, thanksgiving services and the formal award of degrees and honorary doctorates.

The institution said the anniversary offers an opportunity to reflect on its foundational vision and its expanding contribution to knowledge, innovation and national development.

The celebrations open today with a press conference to be addressed by the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Oyesoji Aremu, at the Senate Chamber by 12.00 noon.

The university noted that the briefing will set the tone for the convocation week and highlight achievements recorded in the outgoing academic year.

Tomorrow, December 9, the campus will come alive with Convocation Games at the Sports Complex, followed on Wednesday by a novelty football match, also at the same venue.

A major highlight holds on Friday, December 12, beginning with a Research Exhibition at the VC’s Quadrangle. The exhibition is expected to showcase cutting-edge research outputs by staff and students, reflecting Achievers University’s growing emphasis on innovation-driven scholarship.

Still on Friday, former Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, will deliver the Convocation Lecture at the Prof. Abubakar Adamu Rasheed Auditorium.

The lecture, themed “Just Don’t Graduate, Innovate,” will dwell on the urgency of repositioning Nigerian graduates for the knowledge economy and the evolving global marketplace.

A Jum’at Service will follow at the Central Mosque, Owo, to round off the day’s activities.

The convocation proper comes up on Saturday, December 13, where degrees, prizes, and honorary doctoral awards will be conferred on deserving graduands and eminent Nigerians.

The ceremony, billed for the Prof. Abubakar Adamu Rasheed Auditorium, is expected to draw dignitaries from academia, industry and government.

The week-long events will climax on Sunday, December 14, with a Thanksgiving Service at the Chapel of Grace and Glory, Achievers University, Owo.

According to the institution, the joint ceremonies are intended not only to celebrate academic excellence but also to reaffirm Achievers University’s commitment to producing graduates equipped with skills, values and innovative capacity required to drive development in Nigeria and beyond.
