A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State and governorship aspirant, Barrister Akeem Agbaje, on Friday, congratulated Christians on the occasion of Easter, calling for renewed commitment to unity, sacrifice and national development.
Agbaje, a philanthropist and former Chairman of the Ibadan branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), in his Easter message, urged Christians to reflect on the essence of the season, which he described as a symbol of love, sacrifice and redemption.
He noted that Easter presents an opportunity for Nigerians to imbibe the virtues of selflessness, compassion and peaceful coexistence, stressing that these values are critical to building a prosperous and stable society.
According to him, the sacrifice of Jesus Christ should inspire citizens, especially leaders, to prioritise the welfare of the people above personal interests.
“Easter reminds us of the power of love and sacrifice. It is a season that calls for sober reflection and a renewed commitment to the ideals of unity, service and humanity. As a people, we must embrace these virtues to move our state and nation forward,” he said.
Agbaje further urged Oyo people  to remain hopeful despite the country’s challenges, adding that collective effort and sincerity of purpose would pave the way for sustainable development.
While wishing Christians a peaceful and joyous celebration, the APC chieftain encouraged citizens to use the period to pray for Oyo State and Nigeria, expressing optimism that the nation would overcome its current challenges through unity and shared sacrifice.
