Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, is set to deepen academic discourse and national dialogue on the future of education in Nigeria as it hosts its Second Distinguished Personality Lecture on Monday, August 11, 2025. The event will feature the Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission, Professor ‘Tunji Olaopa, a renowned political scientist, public administrator, and policy reform expert, who will speak on the theme:“Artificial Intelligence and Partnership for the Sustainability of Education in Nigeria.”
Hosted by the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan, the lecture will take place at 12:00 noon inside the University’s 500-Seater Hall, with all students and staff expected to be seated by 11:30 a.m.
According to a statement from the Media and Public Relations Office of the institution, the Distinguished Personality Lecture Series was conceived by the university management as a platform to engage leading minds and inspire the academic community through knowledge-sharing on topical national and global issues.
“The lecture is a strategic effort by the university to expose its community to global thought leadership and promote innovation in education policy and administration,” the statement noted.
Professor Olaopa, a United Kingdom-trained scholar and former federal permanent secretary, is widely regarded for his groundbreaking work on public sector reform and institutional transformation in Nigeria. His lecture is expected to examine how artificial intelligence can be effectively harnessed—through innovative partnerships—for the long-term sustainability and quality advancement of Nigeria’s education sector.
