Engineer (Mrs.) Catherine Aladekugbe has been conferred with the prestigious Fellowship of the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers (NICE), in recognition of her professional excellence and contributions to the engineering profession.
The investiture ceremony took place in Abuja on March 28, 2026, drawing dignitaries from the engineering community, professional bodies, and other stakeholders across the country.
Mrs. Aladekugbe, a seasoned civil engineer, was elevated to the rank of Fellow—one of the highest honours bestowed by the institution—following years of distinguished service, technical competence, and commitment to advancing engineering practice in Nigeria.
Her elevation underscores her impact in the field, particularly in promoting professionalism, mentorship, and sustainable infrastructure development.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, she is also widely known within the Anglican Communion as the wife of the Lord Bishop of Ibadan North Diocese and Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of Ibadan, the Most Rev. Dr. Williams Oluwarotimi Aladekugbe.
Colleagues and associates described the honour as well deserved, noting her consistency, discipline, and dedication to both her career and community service.
The fellowship is expected to further position her as a role model for aspiring engineers, especially women, at a time when increased female participation in science and engineering fields is being strongly advocated.
The Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers, a key professional body under the Nigerian Society of Engineers, confers fellowship status on members who have demonstrated outstanding achievements, leadership, and significant contributions to the development of the engineering profession.
