The University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo, through its Division of Students’ Affairs, has organised a week long orientation programme for the newly admitted students for the 2025/26 academic session.
The orientation, which commenced on Monday, 13th October and ended on Thursday, 16th October, 2025, featured lectures on academics at UNIMED, Nelfund loan, student identity and the image of UNIMED, security, hostels, overviews of various campuses at UNIMED, among others.
While speaking during the opening ceremony of the event, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ebunoluwa Adejuyigbe, charged the students to avoid shortcuts and distractions in their academic journey. “Avoid shortcuts, avoid distractions, avoid the temptation to compare your journey with anyone else’s. You are not in a race, you are in a growth process”, she said.
She further told the students that they are part of something larger than them – the UNIMED legacy! According to the Professor of Paediatrics and Child Health, “From today, you are part of something larger than yourself. You are part of the UNIMED legacy – a legacy of excellence, empathy and service”.
The 11th Orientation Programme of the University was concluded with an interactive session, where the Dean, Students Affairs, Dr Kumolalo, allayed the fears and cleared the doubts of the freshers on diverse issues.
