A non-governmental organisation focusing on neurological health, Brain Health Initiative Nigeria (BHIN), has urged secondary school students to pursue careers in health sciences.
BHIN is owned by Dr Temitope Farombi, Ph.D, a London-trained neurologist and founder The Brain Centre, Ibadan.
The Programme Manager of BHIN, Olajoke Akinyemi, made the call during a career fair 2025 organised by The Speech Squad which was held at the Distance Learning Centre, University of Ibadan, Oyo State.
The programme had the theme: ‘’From Knowledge to Action – Education as a Catalyst for Development’’.
No fewer than 105 students chosen from seven secondary schools in Oyo State took part in the event.
Addressing the participants, the Programme Manager said there were many career opportunities and courses in health sciences .
According to her, one can become public health professionals, research assistants, data analysts, neuroscientists, neurologists, neuropsychologists, programme coordinators, community health educators,health technology specialists, and a host of others.
BHIN team also took the students through one-on-one mentoring sessions.
The event was a great opportunity for BHIN to raise an awareness about the organisation, network with potential talent, and inspire the next generation of professionals.
