I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi on the attainment of the landmark age of 70 years on 25th October 2025.
I knew Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi as a young undergraduate at the University of Ibadan in the seventies. At that time, I was already a lecturer at the university and a close friend of the late Dr. Razak Olopoenia, who was one of the Asiwaju Fasuyi ‘s lecturers in the then Department of Economics. Before, this time,  I have heard about his uncle, Mr Fasuyi, who was the first Director of Culture at the Federal Ministry of Information in the sixties.
Over the years, the interactions between me and Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi had been characterised by mutual respect and courtesy.  Yinka treats me with deference as a senior brother and refers to me affectionately with the appellation of “Bros.”
Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi is a goal getter and a colossus in the field of management and business consultancies.
I have always been impressed by his unalloyed and absolute love for his community in Ijesaland. His whole life is packaged for the development of Ijesaland. There is no doubt  that Ijesaland has been endowed now and before with rich and well connected personalities and I say without fear of contradiction that none has been more involved in the development of Ijesaland more than our celebrant, Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi. Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi has used his wealth and highly valued connections  to uplift the development of Ijesaland.
It is on record that Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi is the brain behind the construction of the ultra modern Palace of Owa Obokun, the modern geriatric medical outfit, the Oba Adekunle Aromolaran civic centre, provisions of Scholarship for Ijesa sons and daughters at tertiary institutions  and other developmental innovations.
Ijesa people owe a debt of gratitude to Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi for the role he played when the electricity company in charge of Ilesa wanted to plunge the town into darkness. By the town from the National Grid. Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi mobilised all forces at his disposal to reverse the ugly trend. It was patriotism at its best from the Asiwaju.
Another notable achievement of Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi is the unity he has forged among different communities in Ijesaland. The age long dichotomy  between different communities in Ijesaland has been obliterated, and it is now a thing of the past. Thanks to the laudable efforts of Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi. There is no doubt that you  deserve the unique chieftaincy title of ASIWAJU OF  IJESALAND.
Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi has not only served his community, but he has also served his God bountifully at All Saints Church Omofe Ilesa and All Souls Church Bodija Ibadan.
Personally, I thank Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi and his dear wife for  their support and friendship when I became the Dean of Postgraduate School University of Ibadan in 1994. They both encouraged my quest for administrative progression in the university system.
I wish Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi a long life in good health with sound mind for more impactful services to God, Nigeria, Ijesaland, and the rest of humanity.
YINKA, O KU ORIRE OJO IBI. OBOKUN A GBE O.
