Hon. Chief (Mrs.) Olajumoke Oyerinde Odususi is a results-driven hospitality and tourism professional turned political figure, with over two decades of experience in business management, community service, and women and youth empowerment. A passionate advocate for good governance and inclusive development, she is recognized for her tireless efforts in improving lives at the grassroots level through strategic empowerment initiatives.
A proud daughter of Oyo State, Chief Olajumoke began her academic journey at Ikolaba Grammar School, Ibadan, where she obtained her Senior Secondary School Certificate in 1995. She went on to earn her National Diploma in Financial Studies (1998) and Higher National Diploma in Accountancy (2002) from The Polytechnic Ibadan, and later obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism from the Nigeria Institute of Hospitality and Tourism (2015–2017). Her career spans both the public and private sectors. She began as an Account Clerk at Guinness Nigeria Plc during her industrial attachment, where she contributed to digitalising payment voucher systems. During her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at Rebo Usman & Co Accounting Firm in Taraba State, she was instrumental in introducing digital auditing processes.
Between 2005 and 2011, she served as the Manager of Country Home Suites in Jericho GRA, Ibadan. Under her leadership, the hotel recorded significant improvements in occupancy rates, cost management, and guest satisfaction. She is widely credited for revitalizing the hotel’s operations and creating innovative service models, including the development of homemade and intercontinental cuisine offerings in collaboration with chefs and kitchen staff.
Beyond her professional career, Chief Olajumoke is the founder of the Olajumoke Oyerinde Odususi Foundation, a platform that has transformed lives across Oyo State through:Care and support for senior citizens, Aid to the less privileged, Youth and children-focused programmes, Advocacy for women in politics, Vocational training for youth, and Empowerment initiatives for women and women farmers.
A dedicated political leader, Chief Olajumoke proudly contested under the banner of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) as a candidate in the Ibadan North Federal Constituency Bye-Election, where she demonstrated her commitment to credible, people-centered representation. She is a grassroots mobiliser and a firm believer in the power of community-led development.
Honoured with the chieftaincy title of Iyalode of Akinyele Town and its Environs, she continues to serve as a symbol of strength, leadership, and service within her community and beyond. Chief Olajumoke remains committed to championing policies that advance women’s rights, empower youth, and improve access to vocational and economic opportunities for all.
