A governorship aspirant of the Peoples’ Democratic Party in Oyo State, Hazeem Gbolarumi, has congratulated Christians on the occasion of Easter, urging Nigerians to embrace unity, sacrifice and selfless service.
Gbolarumi, a former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, lawyer and veteran politician, in his Easter message, described the season as a time for deep reflection on the virtues of love, humility and redemption.
He said Easter, which commemorates the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, symbolises the triumph of sacrifice over adversity and offers hope for a better future.
According to him, the lessons of Easter should inspire leaders at all levels to prioritise the welfare of the people and govern with sincerity of purpose.
“Easter reminds us of the power of sacrifice, love and renewal. It is a season that calls for sober reflection and a commitment to selfless service. As leaders and citizens, we must imbibe these virtues to build a more united and prosperous society,” he said.
The PDP chieftain urged Nigerians to rise above ethnic, religious and political differences, stressing that unity remains key to overcoming the nation’s challenges.
He further called for responsible leadership, accountability and inclusiveness in governance, noting that these are critical to restoring public trust and driving sustainable development.
Gbolarumi also encouraged citizens to remain hopeful and steadfast, expressing optimism that Nigeria can achieve greatness through collective effort and patriotism.
