The district leadership expressed appreciation for Adegoke’s sustained support, describing his commitment as instrumental to the society’s recent achievements.

Pioneer Chairman of the district and Chief Executive Officer of Salvage Professionals, Chief (Mrs) Omokemi Oladipo, said Adegoke’s impact goes beyond financial assistance, noting that his encouragement and strategic support have strengthened the district’s professional and institutional advancement.

“You gave us more than a donation; you gave us love, sincerity of purpose and unwavering support,” Oladipo said.

She disclosed that the district has witnessed remarkable expansion in recent years, with its membership rising to about 260 professionals. According to her, the society has also achieved a major milestone with the acquisition of property, adding that development of the facility would commence soon.

Responding, Adegoke expressed gratitude for the recognition and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the district and the accounting profession.

He also acknowledged the mentorship he received from Biodun Adedeji, noting that such guidance is vital in shaping professionals and strengthening the institute’s future.

Adegoke, a chieftain of the Peoples’  Democratic Party (PDP), reiterated his political aspiration, stating that he intends to participate in the party’s forthcoming primaries.

According to him, his involvement in politics is driven by a desire to contribute to the development of Ibadan and Oyo State through practical and technocratic governance.

“I want the Ibadan of my dream. The resources are there; what we are experiencing is largely a misplacement of priorities. We can learn from models like Singapore, which created the right environment to attract investment and deliver quality services,” he said.

Members of the delegation included Vice Chairman and Partner at Baker Tilly, Ariemuduigho Patterson; General Secretary, Yemi Odebunmi; Mr Eyitayo Sulaimon; Proprietor of Uplink Professionals, Mr Moses Ogundele; representative of the Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria, Mr Emmanuel Kuforiji; Acting Head of Local Government Administration in Oyo State, Mrs Folashade Ayo-Kumuyi; Head of Finance at Handyware Ind Nig Ltd, Mrs Idowu Folashade; and Mr Odudu Justice.

The Lagelu and District Society is a branch of ICAN dedicated to promoting professional excellence, ethical conduct and capacity development among accounting professionals within the Oyo State axis.
