In a heartwarming gesture of solidarity and support, the Lagelu & District Society of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) paid a sympathy visit to Fresh FM Nigeria and Yinka Ayefele Limited, following the devastating fire outbreak that ravaged the radio station’s head office and studio facilities.

The visit, led by the district’s leadership, served as a mark of empathy and moral support for the management and staff of Fresh FM during this challenging period.

The fire, which engulfed the control room and key sections of the building, caused significant structural and equipment damage—but thankfully, no lives were lost.

Speaking during the visit, Chief (Mrs)  Omokemi Oladipo (FCA),  Chairman of the Lagelu & District Society of ICAN, expressed the district’s deep sympathy to the Fresh FM family.

Oladipo lauded the station’s longstanding contribution to public enlightenment, community development, and the promotion of societal values through responsible journalism and quality broadcasting.

“Fresh FM has been a beacon of information and inspiration to countless listeners across the region. At a time like this, it is important that we, as stakeholders in society, stand together with institutions that serve the public good,” Chief (Mrs) Omokemi said.

The district also gave thanks that no casualties were recorded in the incident and offered prayers for the full restoration of the station’s operations. Members of the delegation expressed confidence that Fresh FM would bounce back stronger and continue its invaluable service to the community.

Other members of the visiting delegation included Mr. Paterson Ariemuduigho ,FCA, [Vice Chairman], Dr. Yemi Odebunmi , FCA [General Secretary], and Mr. Moses Ogundele, FCA [Membership Secretary]

In his remarks, Dr. Odebunmi, who signed the delegation’s official message, reaffirmed ICAN Lagelu & District Society’s commitment to standing with organizations and stakeholders in times of adversity.

“This visit is not just symbolic. it reflects our shared humanity and the role of professional bodies in building resilient communities,” he said.

Ayefele, who received the team, expressed appreciation for the thoughtful gesture during what has been a difficult time for the organisation.
