The Faculty of Arts, Lead City University, Ibadan, has finalised arrangements to host the third edition of its flagship cultural event, Omoge Àsà Cultural Pageantry, alongside an entrepreneurial showcase and the Ojúde Lead City  Cultural Extravaganza.
The event, slated for Thursday, April 16, 2026, will be held at Adeline Hall on the university campus, drawing students, cultural enthusiasts and dignitaries from across the country.
According to the organisers, activities will commence with the Ojúde Cultural Extravaganza at 9:00 a.m., followed by the Omoge Àsà Cultural Pageantry at noon.
Both segments are designed to promote indigenous culture and stimulate creative enterprise among the youth.
The programme is expected to feature prominent personalities, including Erelu Abiola Dosunmu Fernandez, who will serve as Chairperson and Royal Mother of the Day. Minister of Art, Culture and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, is billed as Distinguished Guest of Honour, while Mr. Ayodele Olawande will attend as Special Guest of Honour.
Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Kabiru Adeyemo, will serve as Chief Host, while the Registrar, Dr. Oyebola Ayeni, is the host. The Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof. Anjola Robbin, is the convener and initiator of the event.
Prof. Robbin disclosed that the pageantry would also feature contestants drawn from 13 institutions across the South-West, adding that commissioners for culture and tourism from Oyo and Ekiti states are also expected to attend.
She noted that the event, with the theme “Cultural Elegance,” is aimed at celebrating Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage while creating platforms for youth engagement, creativity and entrepreneurship.
According to the professor, the inclusion of an entrepreneurial showcase underscores the university’s commitment to linking cultural expression with economic opportunities in the creative sector.
Also, there will be  a free Adire-making workshop aimed at promoting indigenous craftsmanship and entrepreneurship among students as part of boitcamp training.
The workshop, themed “Threads of Heritage: Turning Adire Craft into Creative Enterprise,” is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at the university campus, as part of pre-event bootcamp  training.
The initiative is designed to bridge culture and enterprise by equipping participants with practical skills in Adire production while exposing them to business opportunities within the creative industry.
The session will be led by Olori Aderonke Ademiluyi-Ogunwusi, convener of African Fashion Week London and Chief Executive Officer of Adire Oodua, who will serve as the training coach.
