The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, has joined his ancestors for two days marking his 90th birthday.
Owolabi Olakulehin, passed away in the early hours of Monday, July 7, 2025, exactly one year after he ascended the throne.
Mr. Toye Arulogun, one of the members of the Olubadan Media Team confirmed the development to The Guardian in Ibadan.
”I can confirm it. We will soon issue an official statement on it”, Arulogun, who was a former Commissioner for Information in Oyo State, said.
Born on July 5, 1935, Oba Olakulehin’s death, was officially presented with the staff of office by Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, on July 12, 2024, becoming the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Oba Olakulehin ascended the throne following the demise of Oba (Dr.) Moshood Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, who died at the age of 81 years on March 14, 2024.
