The conferment, performed by the Chief Imam of Ona-Ara Local Government, Fadilat Sheikh Alhaji Tirimisiyu Ahmoda Rufahi, was part of a grand programme that also featured the launch of a ₦100 million fund for the completion of a multipurpose Islamic Centre and an ultra-modern central mosque for the Ona-Ara Muslim community.

Speaking during the event, Sheikh Rufahi praised Hon. Fadeyi and his wife for their unwavering commitment to Islam, community development, and humanitarian causes, describing the honour as “well-deserved and divinely inspired.”

“Honour like this is earned, not demanded. Hon. Fadeyi and his wife have shown dedication to the growth of Islam and have consistently supported community projects that uplift humanity,” the cleric said.

The Executive Chairman of Ona-Ara Local Government, Hon. Kolapo Temitope Glorious, who was the Chief Host, commended the Deputy Speaker and his wife for their exemplary leadership and philanthropy.

“Their service to both religion and humanity stands as a model for others to emulate,” he noted, urging other Muslim faithful to promote peace, unity, and progress in their communities.

In his acceptance speech, Hon. Fadeyi expressed deep appreciation to the Council of Imams and Alfas for the recognition, promising to continue working for the progress of the Ona-Ara Muslim community and Oyo State at large.

“This honour strengthens my resolve to do more for our people. I will remain committed to promoting unity, good governance, and the advancement of Islam in every way possible,” he said.

The ceremony, filled with prayers, songs of praise, and cultural displays, turned the Elekuro community into a hub of jubilation as family members, associates, and well-wishers celebrated the couple’s recognition.
