Oyo First Lady, Bishop Oyedepo, others honour Wale Oke’s wife at 70

The First Lady of Oyo State, Engineer  Tamunominini Makinde;  the founder of the Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners Chapel), Bishop David Oyedepo;  a  former Prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria,Prelate Sunday Ola Makinde,and other eminent Nigerians, on Monday urged younger generations and others to emulate the life of consistency, integrity, and a heart for God exhibited by Pastor [Mrs] Victoria Tokunbo Wale Oke,  the wife of the National President of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria [PFN], Bishop Francis Wale Oke.

They made the call during the 70th birthday celebration of Mrs Oke which took place at the Sword of the Spirit Ministries, Parliament Road, Ibadan, the state capital.

In his sermon, Bishop  Oyedepo recalled the early years of friendship with the Oke family and the spiritual legacy they have built. He described Rev. Oke as a pillar in the house of faith, not just in her church, but within the broader Nigerian Christian community.

“I have known this couple for a very long time. And I can confidently say that their lives are a testimony of consistency, integrity, and a heart for God. Mama Victoria made a powerful decision early in life to walk with God and serve Him and today, we see the fruit of that choice.”

The Bishop testified that he had known her for her humility, generosity, and strong prayer life, Rev. Oke was described as a “spiritual mother” to many.

In her remarks, the First Lady of Oyo State, Her Excellency Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde, lauded  Rev. Oke’s motherly influence, adding that the celebrant’s quiet leadership and dedication had  helped  others grow spiritually and emotionally, especially women.

“She is a shining example of what it means to live a purpose-driven life. Though I have not known Mama for all of her 70 years, I am proud to call her and Papa my spiritual parents. Their wisdom, kindness, and counsel have had a profound impact on me personally and on many in our state’’, she added.

Also speaking, the  Prelate Ola Makinde called upon all the senior ministers, bishops, and church leaders present to rise and lay hands in faith as they prayed for continued strength, health, and fulfillment for Rev. Oke in the years to come.

In a heartfelt message, her husband, Bishop Wale Oke, expressed deep gratitude to God for sparing her life to see this significant age. He described his wife as his “most dependable ministry partner and strongest support system” whose quiet yet powerful presence has held both their family and the ministry together through seasons of trials and triumphs.Among the ministers present were Archbishop John Osa-Oni, Bishop Mike Okonkwo, Pastor (Mrs.) Funke Felix-Adejumo, Apostle Sunday Popoola, and many other respected figures in Nigerian Christianity.

Responding, Rev. Victoria Oke  lauded those who graced the occasion.
