The Oyo state director of NOA, Aderogba Akanbi, has teamed up with other security Stakeholders as they spoke in unison to register their shared commitment to strengthening peace and fortifying security the state.

The state director was ably represented at the occasion by the deputy director in charge of community safety and awareness and compliance, Miss Abidemi Adewale.
The visiting new AIG in charge of zone 11( Oyo and Osun States,Fred Emuobo Ekokotu, who was treated to a grand reception today by the Oyo State police Command Eleyele as part of his two day- working visit to Oyo state was palpably elated at the large turnout of various stakeholders who are resolved to join hands with police in its realisation of an open society with zero tolerance for criminality. He therefore reaffirmed the Nigeria police Force ‘s unwavering dedication to professional excellence and devotion to duty to ensure a well-ordered society.
In his opening remarks, the new AIG underscored respect for human rights, proactive, technology-driven policing ,community alert system, community mutual collaboration etc as veritable tools for driving modern efficient policing He emphasized that “strengthening public trust through genuine collaboration with communities would be central to his approach.
“We will continue to build on our past achievements, foster peace, and ensure the safety of every citizen in Oyo and Osun States.
The security of the people he stressed is a shared” responsibility,” He assured.
The occasion also featured heartfelt goodwill messages from several stakeholders who pledged their total support for the new AIG’s leadership.
Opening downpour of Searing messages, the Chairman Of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Oyo State Chapter Chairman lauded AIG Ekokotu’s vision and leadership traits.
He assured that the students body of continuous respect for the law, work closely with the Police, and actively promote the “Hear-Something-Say-Something” initiative.
“We students are ready to cooperate fully and contribute to intelligence gathering. We pledge to abide by the law and support peaceful coexistence in Oyo State,”
Traditional leaders, a representative of Ibadan’s traditional rulers and prominent citizens also conveyed the goodwill of the royal fathers to the AIG, assuring him of their readiness to collaborate with the Police in maintaining peace, security, and cultural harmony in the state.
“We welcome you warmly and pledge our traditional institution’s full support in fostering a safer society for all,”
The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) through its leadership, expressed total support for AIG Ekokotu, pledging to work hand-in-hand with the Police Command to further strengthen Police-Community relations.
“We are committed to being a bridge between the public and the Police and will continue to promote trust, transparency, and effective collaboration,” He affirmed.
Torrents of goodwill messages poured in frrom different stakeholders reiterating the importance of grassroots involvement in improving policy-making, peacebuilding, and public safety therefore calling for more efficient synergy to vitiate lawlessness, thus creating shared responsibility for community- oriented policing .
In his closing message, AIG Emuobo called on all citizens to embrace the “Hear Something, Say Something” principle as an important tool in community policing.
“Together, we will make Oyo and Osun States safer for all. Our doors remain open for collaboration,” the AIG assured.
The ceremony was graced by various stakeholders , community leaders and opinions moulders, including security chiefs, top government functionaries, student representatives, members of the civil society organizations, National Orientation Agency, and other key Stakeholders.
