A two-year-old girl has jumped into a well at the Sango of Saki, Oke-Ogun axis of Oyo State. The incident happened at Orita Mokola Junction, Seedu Sabarumu, Sango, Saki. It was gathered that the girl was inside the well for a long time.
Meanwhile, the Oyo State Fire Services Agency, Saki Zonal Command, has recovered the girl from the well. The chairman of Oyo State Service, Maroof Akinwande, confirmed the incident.
Akinwande said: ‘’The emergency call was reported at Saki Fire Station at exactly 13:43hrs by a running caller and Mr. Adewole to someone who fell into a well at the above address.
‘’The Agency’s Officers led by PFS11 Saka quickly left to the scene of the incident . On arrival, we were informed that a girl of two years of age was inside the well for a long time. We swiftly engaged our rescue equipment and CFM Adediran Jacob entered the well for searching-and-rescuing operations’’.
He said the girl was recovered and handed over to a team of policemen led by CSP Odunbanjo Kehinde for further necessary action.

The cause of the incident was unknown and fire service Post Incident Investigation Team (PIIT) is carrying out necessary investigation to know the root cause of the unfortunate incident’’, he said.
The chairman urged the public to take all safety measures in protecting their well and septic pits from free accessibility to the public so as to avoid being a death trap.
