The University of Ibadan (UI) has announced the commencement of admissions into its Master of Science (M.Sc.) programme in Marketing and Consumer Studies, calling on qualified candidates to seize the opportunity to advance their academic and professional careers in one of Nigeria’s leading institutions.

According to information obtained from the Department of Marketing and Consumer Studies, the sale of application forms is still ongoing, with interested candidates encouraged to apply early through the university’s online portal.

The department disclosed that the programme is open to holders of bachelor’s degrees in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, and Mass Communication, adding that the course is designed to equip students with advanced knowledge and analytical skills needed to thrive in today’s competitive and dynamic market environment.

A lecturer in the department confirmed that the M.Sc. programme is currently the only one available, while the Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), M.Phil/Ph.D. and Ph.D. programmes are expected to commence next academic year.

“The form is available for only the M.Sc. programme for now, while the PGD, M.Phil/Ph.D. and Ph.D. programmes will begin next year,” the lecturer said.

The M.Sc. in Marketing and Consumer Studies, one of the most sought-after postgraduate programmes in the Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences, focuses on understanding consumer behaviour, brand strategy, digital marketing analytics, and sustainable market development, key competencies in modern business practice.

The department emphasised that graduates of the programme are well-positioned for roles in marketing strategy, consumer research, advertising, brand management, digital marketing, and academia, both in Nigeria and internationally.
