The University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo, has raised the alarm over the activities of fraudsters who are issuing fake admission letters to unsuspecting candidates via email and SMS.

In a statement signed by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Isaac Oluyi, the university dissociated itself from the fraudulent activities, stressing that genuine admission offers are processed only through its official website and portal: www.unimed.edu.ng.

Oluyi warned parents, guardians, and prospective students to be wary of admission racketeers who exploit social media platforms such as WhatsApp and Telegram, posing as agents of the university.

“UNIMED does not operate through any intermediary, agent, or social media platform to offer admission. Admission into our institution is strictly by merit and cannot be influenced by anyone,” the statement read.

The management urged candidates not to fall victim to the scam, reiterating that all valid admission notifications will be accessible only via the official university portal.

For clarifications or inquiries, candidates are advised to contact UNIMED through the helplines 07051212222 or 08135513654.
