The governorship aspiration of a popular human rights activist and lawyer, Chief Niyi Aborisade, on Thursday received a boost as the youth in Ibarapa North and Ibarapa Central Local Governments of Oyo State declared their support for his ambition to govern the state in 2027.
Chief Aborisade is desirous of leading Oyo State on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party [PDP] and his team is touring the state to mobilise support for the aspiration.
As a leading aspirant, the historian and writer promised to build on the legacies of Governor Seyi Makinde of the state.
The Niyi Aborisade Media Office l, in a statement made available to journalists in Ibadan, said the turnout at Ibara was massive and unprecedented.The media office said party supporters trooped out in their thousands to pledge their for the actualisation of the governorship project.
The media office said:‘’We were in Ibarapa on Thursday.It was massive with a good turnout from the youth at Ibarapa Central. All the party leaders welcomed us at Ibarapa North. They were all happy to see us and endorsed the aspiration of Chief Aborisade. Chief Mukaila Aborode sent a goodwill message . He knew Chief Aborisade very well since their days together in the United Kingdom when Chief Aborode was his supervisor.
One of the leaders, who promised his support to Chief Aborisade’s ambition, is Hon. kolawole Salako Olanrele, popularly known as Great Mother. The political leader prayed for Chief Aborosade’s success, saying Ibarapa’s people would not disappoint him.
The media office said: ‘’Chief Aborode lauded chief Niyi Aborisade to high heavens as a man of integrity who has served under him and performed creditably during their days in the UK many years ago.This message was delivered by his representative in the meeting’’.
n his remarks,Aborisade lauded the chairman of PDP in Ibarapa North for the warm reception and thanked all the leaders present. He said their continued support would bring his aspiration to fruition.The governorship aspirant also commended the Coordinator of the youth at Ibarapa Central Council, Mr. Niyi Ogunbowale, organising a big welcome party of the youth and the elders.
Also, Hon.Fakorode, who prayed for Chief Aborisade, urged him to keep the aspiration going. Others present at the programme were Olayiwola Ojoogun,the Ibarapa North Chairman of the party; Alhaji Sarafa Babarinde,Hon. Saminu Azeez Oyiha, Haji Muta Glo, Okesooto Biliaminu a leader from Ayete, Alhaji Ogundeju Sarafa, Alhaji Dauda Badmus leader, Hon. Tijani Monsuru Ajibola, Ogunwale Bukola, Alhaji Ogundeji Ganiyu and other leaders.
Those from Ibadan were Mallam Yusuf of Ido Local government, Honourable Erinle from North East Local Government, Olalekan Akindele from Egbeda Local Government,Mr. Wole Fadele former Secretary of Egbeda Local Government Ibadan , Hon Jimoh Oladimeji of North East Local Government Ibadan and Hon. Kolawole Aboodun of Ibadan North Local Government.
