Supporters of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) have taken their campaign beyond Nigeria, launching an international mobilisation drive to back his governorship bid in Ogun State.
The initiative was unveiled at the Yayi Diaspora Support Group’s inaugural virtual strategy meeting, bringing together Nigerians from the United States and Canada. The meeting focused on coordinating diaspora efforts, amplifying campaign messages, and linking international supporters with grassroots activities in Ogun State.
Facilitator Adeboye Adejobi praised members for their dedication, describing the global effort as a “major step toward building coordinated support” for Adeola’s campaign. Participants agreed that the diaspora would play a key role in boosting visibility, engaging media platforms, and connecting overseas voters with local stakeholders.
A formal letter of support has already been delivered and acknowledged by Senator Adeola, marking the early alignment of diaspora advocacy with the broader campaign. Plans are also in place to host the senator in North America for town hall meetings, community engagements, and stakeholder dinners to strengthen overseas participation.
An executive committee was inaugurated to drive the initiative, with Ademola Adejobi as coordinator, Adegboyega Salau as deputy coordinator, Oluwaseyi Odeyemi as treasurer, and Adeboye Adejobi as secretary.
Members pledged continued collaboration and emphasised the critical role of global Nigerians in supporting Adeola’s governorship ambition.
