Ifako-Ijaiye on Cusp of New Dawn as Obawole Vanguard Takes Center Stage

During the organization’s inaugural meeting, held at Adepitan Street, Orimolade Ifako, Lagos, the organization spokesperson Oladimeji Salako said the Obawole Vanguard is a political movement that aims to bring about change in the politics, governance, and livelihood of the people, particularly in the Ifako Ijaiye area, its primary place of operation.

Salako emphasized Obawole Vanguard’s mission and goals derived from the tripod principles of truth, welfarism, and justice, known about its founder and leader, High Chief (Prince) Quadri Adewale Obawole.

“Prince Adewale Obawole is a household name in both the community and political circle of Ifako-Ijaiye and, without political power, has a reputation for elevating the welfare of the people and creating opportunities for the young.”

“Considering this timing of our national life, we need initiatives that often focus on promoting development, empowerment, and economic justice for the people at local levels such that it complements the effort of government at the national level,” Salako added.

Asked if the Obawole Vanguard is connected to the upcoming 2027 elections and which office Prince Adewale Obawole would contest for, an executive of the movement, Chief Ibrahim Obawole, said the vision for the future of any community cannot be achieved without political power; at the appropriate time, the office that can drive the vision for a prosperous Ifako-Ijaiye will be declared.

For now, the objective of the political organization, according to Erelu Nurat Lawal, is to mobilize support.

However, indications at the inaugural meeting show the Ifako-Ijaiye people are indeed set on the cusp of a new dawn. People from different spreads and distributions described the movement as timely. They called on members of the entire community to join the train that promises a better and prosperous future for all.

The official launch of Obawole Vanguard, its specific objectives, and the affirmative response it receives from the community will no doubt redraw the political landscape of the Ifako-Ijaiye community, especially ahead of the 2027 election year.
