IN SOLIDARITY WITH THE FCT STRIKING WORKERS, WE ARE IN FULL SUPPORT FOR THE TOTAL SHUT DOWN OF THE FCT OVER NON IMPLEMENTATION OF THE MINIMUM WAGE, FEDERAL WORKERS WILL JOIN IN SYMPATHY, NLC MAKE SERIOUS YOUR THREAT.
We at the Federal Workers Forum are in full support of the call by the Abuja council of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) for a mass action to completely shut down the federal capital territory upon the expiration of the ultimatum of the striking workers in the different area councils of the FCT.
We call on the NLC to get serious with the ultimatum and not just make it another empty threat. The workers have suffered enough. We are really very surprised that despite the several promises of the FCT minister to resolve the matter and it has all been in vain. Government cannot continue to torture the workers, the workers are left with no other option other than to figh for their survival.
We salute the courage of the striking FCT workers and their different industrial unions.
We urge all industrial unions in the federal public sector to take a queue and take radical steps to protect the interest of their members.
The Federal Workers Forum position is very clear, we will join the FCT workers in solidarity for the mass action to shut down the FCT if the government continues to delay the full implementation of the new minimum wage for the FCT workers.
We call for understanding from the public and more endorsement of this mass protest from the labour movement and the society at large.
