In a statement released to the media by Hameed Mustapha Ramadan, and issued to commemorate the second year of President Tinubu’s administration,  Alabi emphasised the importance of patience and unity, urging Nigerians to support the President as he builds a new economic foundation for future generations.

“President Tinubu inherited a nation weighed down by long-standing structural issues, ranging from economic instability, and insecurity, to infrastructural decay, but he came with clarity, vision, and the political will to act. In less than two years, we have seen a leadership that is focused on genuine transformation,” Alabi said.

The lawmaker acknowledged the sacrifices citizens are making as the administration implements far-reaching reforms, adding that such transitions are never easy but are necessary for long-term growth.

“We cannot reverse decades of decline in just a few months. The road is tough, but it’s the path to renewal. The bold economic reforms, like the fuel subsidy removal and the unification of the forex system, are correcting fiscal misalignments and creating a transparent foundation for investors and entrepreneurs,” he said.

Alabi also pointed to the ‘Naira-for-crude’ policy, the clearing of IMF debt and forex backlogs, saying they have restored fiscal integrity and opened doors for renewed international and investor confidence.

On national security, Akin Alabi applauded the improved coordination among security agencies and the renewed vigor in confronting criminal elements.

“From the North West to the South East, we’re witnessing a decline in large-scale attacks, and communities are beginning to feel safer. Our Armed Forces are more empowered under this administration, and that’s key to sustaining peace and economic progress,” he noted.

Alabi praised President Tinubu’s push to industrialise agriculture through the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ) with Oyo, Ogun, and Kwara States among the first-phase beneficiaries.

“These agro-industrial hubs are revolutionizing how we farm, process, and export. Farmers are now being connected directly to processors and markets. This is the kind of structural change we need to boost productivity and reduce poverty,” Alabi stated.

The representative emphasised the creation of two new strategic ministries, the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy and the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development, as innovative responses to diversify the economy and create sustainable jobs in underutilized sectors.

The lawmaker hailed the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as a game-changer in higher education funding and noted the recent approval of a Federal University in Okeho, Oyo State as a major milestone for the region.

He further lauded the establishment of the Consumer Credit Corporation, which is already helping Nigerians access responsible credit for housing, education, and business development.

In a move toward national equity, Alabi praised President Tinubu for establishing the creation of six regional development commissions, which include: South West, North East, South East, South South, North West and North Central Development Commissions.

He expressed confidence that these commissions will significantly fast-track infrastructure and social development at the grassroots level.

“With President Tinubu’s establishment of the development commissions, we will witness unprecedented development at the grassroots level. No region will be left behind, The foundation he is laying will outlive this administration.” Alabi affirmed.

To improve electricity access, the Tinubu administration has approved delivery of mega power stations in Ogbomosho, Lagelu and Oke-Ogun, boosting supply to previously underserved areas and supporting homes, businesses, and essential services.

It also revamped the passport application system, ensuring faster processing and easier retrieval, cutting down the delays and inefficiencies citizens once faced.

The Chairman House Committee on Works, Alabi also cited ongoing improvements in national infrastructure, including the long-stalled Abuja-Kaduna-Kano highway, Lagos-Calabar coastal road, Sokoto-Badagry super highway, Oyo federal roads among others now receiving proper attention, a substantial federal focus after nearly a decade of stagnation.

He  called on Nigerians to support the Tinubu administration, recognising that the early pains of reform are temporary, but the benefits will be lasting.

“We have a leader who is not chasing popularity but posterity. His eyes are set on a prosperous, stable, and self-reliant Nigeria. With the continued support of the people, this blueprint will become a living reality for every Nigerian”, added.
