A community leader and 2026 governorship aspirant  on  the platform of the All Progressives Congress [APC] in Osun State, Hon. Kabiru Adisa, has urged residents of the state to elect those that will represent them effectively into offices.

Adisa,a  Fellow Chartered Accountant, made the call at the 16th Asa Day celebration which was held, on Saturday  28th December 2024,  at Methodist Primary School, Asa, Olaoluwa Local Government area of Iwo federal constituency, Osun State.

Adisa, popularly called Kulukulu, was the Co-chairman and Special Launcher of the Asa Day 2024 and Donation of Development Appeal Funds for the Building of the Central Palace for Asa Kingdom and youth empowerment.

He donated a sum of one million naira for the projects, promising to donate more as the project progresses.

Adisa said: ‘’Development starts with people you send to represent you in the parliaments and at the executive arm at the federal, state and local government levels. I encourage you all to send those who will represent you well at all levels and organs of government so that they can bring development projects to your community.

‘’In Iwo land, comprising   three local governments of Iwo, Ayedire and Olaoluwa, you can count up to 70 projects jointly executed. The reason I am saying this is that, today, we are launching appeal funds for the building  of a befitting palace for our father, the Adaatan of Asa.

‘’ We will support the project wholeheartedly.  Today, we will support it with a donation and as the project progresses; we will be supporting it by the grace of God’’.

The governorship aspirant also pledged to bring other projects to the town, adding that he would soon begin vocational training and empowerment for the youths of the town.

Adisa  said: ‘’We will bring projects to this town. We will give vocational training to the youths and empower them.  It will happen before the end of the  first or second quarter of 2025. It is an agreement we have signed. This is my second town.  We will support the building of the palace with one million naira and the money will be paid now’’.

The community leader also informed the people of his desire to become  Osun State governor  in 2026.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the day, Prof. Lai Olurode, urged all sons and daughters of Asa to continue to  promote   the town.

The former National Commissioner with the Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] said: ”The most difficult thing to do is building institutions.  There must be unity and synergy to build enduring institutions’’.

On his part, the Adaatan of Asa kingdom, Oba Adeolu Akinmoyero Akinyanju, commended Hon. Adisa and others who donated for the project. He prayed for more blessings for them all.

In his remarks, the Asiwaju of Asa kingdom, High Chief  Joseph Adetunji, lauded Hon. Adisa for his benevolence  and others for their support.
