Alhaji Iliasu Jamiu, Chairman of Ogbomoso Parapo (Home), stated this in an interview with The People’s Verdict, describing the governor as “a compassionate leader who is driving progress, development and economic expansion without subjecting citizens to hardship.”

According to him, Makinde’s people-oriented approach to governance reflects the true essence of leadership as recommended in the Holy Qur’an.

“Governor Makinde has brought comfort, peace and progress to the people of Oyo State. Since he assumed office, the education sector has become more stable, unlike in the past when schools were constantly shut due to strikes,” he said.

Jamiu particularly commended Makinde for resolving the protracted crisis at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, which had left the institution perpetually under lock and key. He noted that the governor “thought out of the box” to restore the school’s glory and rescue students from prolonged academic disruptions.

On health, the community leader applauded the administration for recently recruiting new personnel to strengthen service delivery across the state. He also highlighted Makinde’s support to farmers through financial aid, seedlings and chemicals, which, according to him, has boosted food production.

Speaking on projects in Ogbomoso, Jamiu cited the 76.67km Iseyin–Fapote–Ogbomoso Road (renamed Adebayo Alao-Akala Highway) and the construction of the Under G-LAUTECH Road as key infrastructure that have improved connectivity and development in the area.

He further praised the administration’s contribution to security through the establishment of Amotekun Corps, disclosing that the government supported Ogbomoso Parapo in building a security post for the outfit. “Because there is security in Ogbomoso, people live in peace and we are recording steady progress,” he said.

On employment, Jamiu observed that the administration has opened opportunities across sectors. “Going by what we heard, there is no government agency where people have not been recruited, the education sector, health, civil service. This administration has tried to touch every sector and that is commendable,” he added.
