The appointment, which takes immediate effect, was conveyed through a letter signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi, and announced on Monday in Ibadan.
According to the statement, the 11-member committee is saddled with the responsibility of planning and coordinating activities marking the 50th anniversary of the creation of Oyo State, which was carved out of the old Western State in 1976.
Other members of the committee include a former Head of Service, Alhaja Ololade Agboola, who will serve as Deputy Chairman; Dr. Z.O. Ajuwon, OON; Mustapha Razaq Areo; Alhaja Fatimah Ololade Azeez; S.A. Adejumo; and Pastor John Olasunkanmi Alabi.
Also on the list are Alhaji A.K. Bello, Mrs. Ronke Adedayo, who will serve as Secretary, COMPOL Fatai Owoseni (rtd), and the Director-General of Protocol, Mr. Samuel Adegboyega Badejo.
Makinde, through the letter, congratulated the appointees and urged them to bring their experience, creativity, and sense of service to bear in ensuring a befitting golden jubilee celebration for the state.
The committee is expected to immediately commence work on planning activities that will reflect Oyo State’s achievements, unity, and future aspirations.
