It  was a convergence of power, prestige, and panache on Saturday as dignitaries from within and outside Nigeria gathered at the Bodija residence of Barrister Niyi Aborisade to celebrate his  58th birthday in grand style.

The event, which held on October 18,  three days after his actual birth date, was strategically moved to accommodate friends and associates flying in from the UK and the US.

Aborisade, the Mogaji of Ajagba Compound in Oke-Ofa Babasale, pulled a high-profile crowd that included former Nigerian Ambassador to the Philippines, Dr. Yemi Farounbi; renowned art promoter, Prince Tunde Odunlade; Mr. Wasiu Abiola; and a host of political stalwarts, including Hon. Yinka Taiwo, former PDP Chairman in Oyo State.

Also in attendance were community leaders, party faithful, and well-wishers from all walks of life, who trooped in to honour the Ibadan-born legal practitioner and politician.

Speaking , Aborisade, who is a   governorship aspirant  in 2027 on the platform of  the PDP,  expressed gratitude for the show of love and solidarity. He described the turnout as “a testament to enduring friendship and shared purpose.”

He used the occasion to commend the PDP on its recently concluded state congress, urging the newly elected executives to remain focused. He also called on Nigerians to take the democratic process seriously by registering and collecting their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

On his much-rumoured governorship ambition, Aborisade declared his readiness to serve, saying his political philosophy is rooted in the progressive ideals of the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

“My desire to run is driven by the need to deliver good governance, the Awolowo way , with integrity, empathy, and people-focused policies,” he said.

In his goodwill message, Ambassador Farounbi described Aborisade as “a good man with great intentions,” expressing hope that his aspirations would materialise.
