Speaking  at the university’s 8th matriculation  ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor stressed that students must shun examination malpractice, plagiarism, absenteeism, cultism, and any form of misconduct that undermines learning and the reputation of the institution.

“The University frowns against examination malpractice and every other misconduct. As you become ambassadors of Precious Cornerstone University, you should be diligent,” Prof. Adejumo said, calling on students to embrace honesty, hard work, and a strong sense of purpose.

Guest speaker, Dr. Motunrayo M. Coker of the Department of Zoology, University of Ibadan, reinforced the message, urging students to leverage technology, artificial intelligence, and social media responsibly to achieve their academic and personal goals.

Dr. Coker emphasised that the ultimate aim of university education is to build critical thinking, independence, responsibility, and interpersonal skills. He encouraged students to avoid distractions, rise above peer pressure, and take up mentorship, academic societies, and leadership opportunities that promote holistic growth.

Citing personal experience, Dr. Coker shared how persistence, resilience, and reliance on divine guidance enabled him to overcome repeated setbacks in his academic journey, culminating in a PhD and international recognition. He encouraged students to adopt the same determination in pursuing their dreams.

“You are built for purpose. Life starts when you make up your mind to give it all it takes and build your life around God. The world waits for you at the finish line. Go and prosper,” he advised.

The ceremony highlighted the university’s commitment to nurturing morally upright, skilled, and responsible graduates who can positively contribute to society. Students were reminded that success is earned through diligence, integrity, and purposeful action.
