The Dean, Faculty of Health Law and Humanities, University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo, Professor Leroy Edozien, has been appointed as one of five new members of the Governing Council of Wigwe University.
The appointment adds another milestone to Professor Edozien’s distinguished academic career and underscores his growing contribution to scholarship, medical education and the intersection of health, law and the humanities.
Professor Edozien, a respected scholar in health law and related fields, is expected to bring his wealth of academic and professional experience to the council as the institution continues to consolidate its position in Nigeria’s higher education landscape.
Reacting to the appointment, the Vice-Chancellor of UNIMED, Professor Ebunoluwa Adejuyigbe, described it as a well-deserved recognition of Professor Edozien’s expertise and contributions to academia.

Professor Adejuyigbe further wished the new council member a successful tenure, expressing confidence that his experience and expertise would add value to the governance and development of Wigwe University.
Professor Edozien’s appointment is also a significant recognition of the calibre of academics and professionals emerging from UNIMED, Nigeria’s specialised medical university.
