FCAIB Hosts First Working Day Prayer Meeting for 2026

The Federal College of Agriculture, Moor Plantation, Ibadan, on Monday  hosted the first working day prayer meeting for the year.
 The event brought together the Management and Staff members from the IAR&T community: Federal College of Agriculture, Ibadan (FCAIB), the Institute of Agricultural Research and Training (IAR&T), and the Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology (FCAHPT).
The prayer meeting was attended by notable dignitaries: the Provost of the Federal College of Agriculture, Ibadan, Prof. Jonathan J. Atungwu, ably  represented by the College’s Deputy Provost (Administration),  Dr. Musliu O. Adenekan, the Director of Institute of Agriculture Research and Training, Prof. G. A. Oluwatosin and the Provost of the Federal College of Animal Health and Production and Technology, Dr. Chidi Okpeze.
The gathering was aimed at committing the new year into God’s hands while praying for growth, unity, peace, and collective progress within the IAR&T community.
Prayers were conducted in both Christian and Muslim manners, fostering an atmosphere of inclusivity, unity, and spiritual harmony.
The event also featured praise and worship sessions, during which staff expressed gratitude for the successes of the previous year and faith for a prosperous 2026.
Various Labour Union representatives from FCAIB, FCAH&PT, and IAR&T delivered goodwill messages, in which their members were encouraged to uphold diligence, punctuality and uprightness in the discharge of their duties to ensure effective representation and productivity across all departments.
The FCAIB Provost’s address, delivered by the Deputy Provost (Administration) on behalf of Prof. J. J. Atungwu, emphasized three key values to guide staff in the new year: punctuality, kindness, and faithfulness.
He stressed that punctuality enhances productivity and efficiency; kindness promotes a positive and compassionate work environment and faithfulness fosters commitment, integrity and excellence in service delivery.
In attendance were members of the Colleges and Institutes’ Management, Deputy Directors, Deans, Heads of Departments, Heads of Units and other staff in large turn out.
The IAR&T community looks forward with optimism to a  productive, peaceful, and prosperous 2026, God willing.
