Aborisade shines at ADC stakeholders’ meeting, boosts party’s reform agenda

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Oyo State on Saturday, January 17, 2026, convened an expanded stakeholders’ meeting at its state office in Mokola, Ibadan, with prominent legal practitioner and party chieftain, Chief  Niyi Aborisade, emerging as a key highlight of the gathering.

The well-attended meeting brought together leading ADC figures from Oyo and neighbouring states, including the Oyo State Chairman, Alhaji Yinka Olona; Ogun State Chairman, Femi Soluade; and Ondo State Chairman, Bar Ayowole Ademoyegun. Also present were party stalwarts, including Dr. Charles Omidiji, Engr. Jide Adeniji, federal constituency and local government chairmen, as well as women and youth leaders and major party candidates for various political offices.

Aborisade, whose presence underscored the growing influence of the ADC’s professional and reform-minded bloc, was widely acknowledged by members as a stabilising force and a strong voice in the party’s ongoing reorganisation and preparations for future elections. His participation reinforced the ADC’s emphasis on credible leadership, legal expertise, and political prudence as it strengthens its structure across the state.

The meeting commenced with remarks by Femi Soluade, who commended Alhaji Olona’s leadership and urged ADC members to remain steadfast and committed to the party’s ideals. Soluade highlighted unity and discipline as crucial tools for consolidating the party’s gains and achieving electoral success.

Alhaji Yinka Olona, in his address, spotlighted the party’s recent achievements, including the acquisition of a permanent office building and the successful organisation of leadership conferences and coalition meetings aimed at consolidating the ADC’s presence across Oyo State. He also revealed that the party’s membership had grown to about 264,000 members statewide, calling on stakeholders to intensify grassroots mobilisation and recruitment ahead of the 2027 elections.

A key aspirant for the 2027 Oyo State governorship election also addressed the gathering, describing the ADC as a party of “light and hope” and appealing for the support of party members in upcoming electoral contests.

The event concluded with goodwill messages from other notable leaders and candidates, all reaffirming their commitment to the ADC’s vision of credible governance, internal democracy, and grassroots mobilisation.

The meeting, featuring figures like Chief  Aborisade, signalled renewed momentum within the Oyo ADC, highlighting the party’s growing influence and readiness as it positions itself strategically for the 2027 elections.
