Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, has openly stated that he is unapologetic about his support for President Bola Tinubu, describing their friendship as one that has lasted for over two decades.

Soludo, a member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), made the declaration while addressing journalists at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. His visit to the President came with a public show of solidarity, as he wore a cap with Tinubu’s insignia, which read, “Progressives are working together.”

The governor explained the cap’s significance, stating, “These caps were produced even from the time the president visited Anambra State and you saw all the billboards and stuff proclaiming that Progressives are working together. Subsequently, it’s a fundamental idea that I believe very strongly and all the political parties who profess progressivism should actually come on together in a massive coalition to deepen not only the process of our democracy but also of our economic and socio-development of our country.”

He further clarified his stance, saying, “For me, when I say progressives working together is a call for all those who come on board. Talk about Tinubu, I have no apologies about it, President Tinubu is my friend and has been my friend for 22 years now and counting. So you don’t deny a friend, I support him.”

Soludo also expressed his admiration for the bold economic and structural reforms being implemented by the Tinubu administration, stating that he is “impressed by the bold steps he has taken particularly in the area of the economy, the structural reforms and I have said so severally. We are taking the right steps, we only need to stay the course.”
