The Archbishop of Ibadan Ecclesiastical Province and the Bishop of Ibadan North Anglican Diocese,His Grace ( Dr) Williams Oluwarotimi Aladekugbe said that the resurrection of Jesus Christ after death symbolised victory over death, sins , world and escape from damnation
The Easter Message is contained in the press release issued and signed by the Ibadan North Diocesan Communicator, Chief Ayoade Solomon Olugbemiga on Sunday
” Without Jesus Christ resurrection,our worship is in vain for the resurrection gives us, salvation ,hope,joy and escape from damnation, “Archbishop Aladekugbe further stressed.
“Jesus Christ gives us triumph over death, sins and vissicitudes of life adding that resurrection is the completion of our salvation and fulfillment of the Biblical prophecies.
“As we commemorate the the resurrection of Jesus Christ, His Grace (Dr) Williams Oluwarotimi Aladekugbe admonished Christians not to go back to sins forsaken during the 40 day fasting period but instead become new creatures in words and deeds as redeemed Christians”, he said.
While rejoicing with all Christians all over the world, the cleric prayed God to bless us, shield us and restore our loses.
The Easter celebrations started with Good Friday service in commemoration of the suffering, trial and crucifixion of Jesus Christ, followed by Easter Sunday when Jesus resurrected and Easter Monday when Jesus appeared to His people and subsequently ascension to heaven.
