Birthdays offer more than an occasion for celebration. They provide an opportunity to reflect on a life of purpose, service and enduring impact. They also afford family, friends and associates the chance to honour individuals whose character and contributions have enriched the lives of others.
For me, one such individual is Rev. Dr. Kolade Oladele, a devoted minister of the Gospel and Personal Assistant to His Imperial Majesty, Iku Baba Yeye, the Alaafin of Oyo and Paramount Ruler of the Oyo Kingdom.
Over the years, Rev. Oladele has distinguished himself through humility, dedication and an unwavering commitment to service. He is a man whose disposition reflects empathy, compassion and selflessness, consistently placing the welfare of others above personal interests.
His life exemplifies the virtues of kindness, integrity and emotional intelligence. He possesses a rare ability to understand the needs of people around him, offering encouragement, practical support and wise counsel whenever required. Rather than dwell on misunderstandings or grievances, he chooses reconciliation, understanding and peace.
Those who know him attest to his remarkable ability to build and sustain meaningful relationships. He invests time in people, values loyalty and derives genuine fulfilment from seeing others succeed. His generosity extends beyond material assistance, embracing mentorship, encouragement and spiritual guidance.
Rev. Oladele is also an optimist whose resilience, gratitude and unwavering faith continue to inspire those around him. His positive outlook, coupled with a deep sense of purpose, has enabled him to navigate life’s challenges with dignity and grace while remaining committed to the service of God and humanity.
Indeed, his life reflects many of the principles associated with positive psychology—hope, gratitude, resilience, compassion and purposeful living. He approaches every assignment with diligence, maintains an infectious sense of humour and continually seeks solutions rather than dwelling on problems.
As he marks another year today, it is fitting to celebrate not only the anniversary of his birth but also the values he represents. His life has become a source of inspiration to many, while his contributions to humanity continue to leave lasting impressions on all who encounter him.
It is my prayer that the years ahead will bring him greater fulfilment, sound health, divine favour and renewed strength for greater service. May he continue to flourish in wisdom, enjoy abundant peace and experience even greater accomplishments in his calling.
Happy birthday to a remarkable servant of God, an exceptional administrator and a man whose life truly embodies positivity.
