Mafio Creativille founder, Funmilayo Adebomi, has said her company’s mission is to help businesses establish a strong digital presence through creative content that enhances visibility and drives customer engagement.
The creative popularly called Funmilayo Dudu, who spoke during a symposium on Artificial Intelligence [AI] organised by the Department of Marketing and Consumer Studies, University of Ibadan [UI], said businesses can no longer rely solely on conventional marketing strategies.
She stressed that authentic digital content has become indispensable for brands seeking to remain relevant in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
According to her, Mafio Creativille supports businesses by creating user-generated content (UGC), producing promotional videos, providing on-site event coverage, developing website content and offering event hosting services.
“Our mission is simple: to help businesses stand out online. We create content that enables brands to connect with their audiences in authentic and engaging ways, making them more visible and competitive in today’s digital economy,” she said.
She explained that the company’s name, Mafio, was inspired by the initials of members of her family.
“We reshuffled the initials until we came up with ‘Mafio’. It is unique, memorable and has a personal meaning to us,” she said.
Dudu revealed that before venturing into entrepreneurship, she worked at a radio station and also served as a customer care representative, experiences she said helped sharpen her communication and relationship management skills.
“My background in communication inspired me to help businesses tell their stories better. I realised I could use my communication skills to help brands project themselves effectively and build stronger relationships with customers,” she said.
Speaking on the challenges of entrepreneurship, Dudu acknowledged that building a startup has not been easy but said passion has remained her greatest motivation.
“Like every startup, the journey has been challenging. There have been obstacles along the way, but because I genuinely love what I do, I have remained committed and continued to grow the business,” she said.
On what inspired her transition into the communications and content creation industry, she said the decision was driven by her passion for storytelling and helping businesses build meaningful connections with their audiences.
Dudu urged entrepreneurs to embrace digital storytelling and authentic content creation, noting that customers increasingly respond to relatable experiences and genuine brand narratives.
She expressed optimism that businesses that consistently invest in quality digital content would enjoy greater visibility, stronger customer trust and sustainable growth in the evolving online marketplace.
