Fadeyi made the donation as part of his support for the hospital, which has commenced full operations and attended to nearly 100 patients since it began work on December 27, 2025.

The senator visited the facility on Thursday to inspect the donated items and assess the hospital’s progress. He was received by the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Kola Musliudin Owonikoko, the Director of Medical Laboratory Science, Hajia Folake Bello, and other heads of departments.

Speaking during the visit, Owonikoko described the donation, which arrived three days before the senator’s visit, as “fantastic”, noting that it included essential equipment as well as consumables needed for effective service delivery.

He said the items would significantly improve the hospital’s capacity to respond to emergencies, adding that the facility could now supply blood to other hospitals.

The CMD disclosed that the hospital had commenced operations across different sections, with specialist clinics already running. He also revealed that he personally performed surgeries on patients on the day of the senator’s visit.

Owonikoko appealed to Fadeyi to extend streetlighting to the hospital environment, commending him for facilitating the installation of streetlights from Otan Ayegbaju to Ila-Orangun.

He also lauded the hospital’s staff for their cooperation and acknowledged the support of community leaders and traditional chieftains, particularly their assistance to patients who could not afford their medical bills.

In appreciation of the donation, the CMD presented a letter of commendation to the senator and prayed for his continued good health and greater opportunities to serve humanity.

In his response, Fadeyi said he prioritised the hospital because of its importance to the people of Ila-Orangun.

He explained that his family background had given him an early appreciation of healthcare, noting that some of his siblings were doctors and that his wife was also a medical practitioner.

The senator recalled accompanying his father to the operating theatre as a child, saying the experience helped him understand the importance of medical care from an early age.

He described his intervention as a form of empowerment and a way of giving back to society, promising to undertake more projects in support of the hospital.

Fadeyi also pledged to explore ways of supporting subsidies for patients to reduce the financial burden of accessing healthcare.

He expressed the hope that the hospital would grow into one of the best healthcare facilities in Osun State, comparable to the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex (OAUTHC), Ile-Ife.

During a tour of the facility, Bello told the senator that the hospital had previously faced equipment shortages, with some items still under payment, others obtained on loan and some received through donations.

She described the senator’s contribution as timely and essential, particularly for the emergency unit, and promised that the equipment would be put to effective use.

Bello also commended Owonikoko for his personal contributions to the hospital.

The senator also inspected the major road construction project leading to the hospital, expressing the hope that it would be completed and commissioned during the facility’s first anniversary celebration.

Earlier in the day, Fadeyi had paid a courtesy visit to former Osun State Governor, Bisi Akande, before proceeding to the hospital.

He later visited his family house on Oke-Eede Street in Ila-Orangun to inspect road construction in the area.

A resident, Halimat Balogun, expressed concern over the delay in completing the road project, saying residents were worried that the work might not be finished.

Fadeyi assured the residents that he would contact the contractor personally to facilitate completion of the project.
