All arrangements have been finalised by ParrotXtra Media Network to mark the 61st birthday of its founder, Ambassador Olayinka Agboola, on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.

In a statement issued at the weekend, the organisation disclosed that a former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Iyiola Oladokun, will chair a special live panel session during its weekly radio programme on Splash FM 105.5.

According to the statement, the session will form part of activities lined up to celebrate Agboola’s birthday, coinciding with the network’s regular Tuesday broadcast.

“Our usual weekly radio show on Splash 105.5FM in Ibadan coincides with Ambassador Agboola’s 61st birthday anniversary. We have therefore decided to mark the occasion with a creatively structured live panel session,” the statement noted.

Other panellists expected at the session include Senator Monsurat Sunmonu, a former Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly; Bishop (Dr) Ademola Moradeyo; Hon. Yinka Omikunle, a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly; Hon. Tajudeen Adigun Adeniyi, Chairman of Ibadan South-West LCDA; and Oluwaseun Omo Akinola, a senior manager at Splash FM. Publisher of Ovation International, Chief Dele Momodu, is also billed to participate virtually from Ghana.

The discussion, themed “Nigeria’s Wobbling, Fumbling Democracy: Whose Fault, Way Forward?”, will be moderated within a one-hour format. Each panellist is expected to speak for two minutes on the question of responsibility in the first segment and another two minutes on solutions in the second.

The organisation described the session as both “academically and politically stimulating,” adding that it reflects its commitment to contributing to democratic discourse in the country.

“We are delighted to host this session in honour of our Crew Leader. It is our modest contribution to strengthening Nigeria’s democracy,” the statement added.

Other activities scheduled after the live broadcast include the cutting of an anniversary cake and the distribution of gifts to widows and other beneficiaries. The day will also feature a thanksgiving in appreciation of divine support over the organisation’s 21 years of operation.

Tributes will equally be paid to one of the network’s mentors, Elder Clement Ige, who passed on last week at the age of 68. His firm, Ceedee Resources, coordinated the media outfit’s 20th anniversary celebration held in Ibadan last year.

The event will be streamed live on Facebook via Splash FM 105.5 Ibadan between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon.

Before founding ParrotXtra Media Network, a division of ProKonnect Limited, in 2004, Agboola worked with Fame Weekly Magazine, ThisDay Newspaper, Ovation International Magazine, Sketch Newspapers and the Nigerian Tribune. He also served as Press Secretary to former Oyo State Governor, the late Alhaji Lam Adesina.

Agboola currently oversees the network’s operations, including the publication of ParrotXtra Glossy Magazine, its online platform, PMParrot.com, and the weekly radio programme, ParrotXtra Hour/Ayekooto, aired on Splash FM every Tuesday at 11:00 a.m.
