Lead City University, Ibadan, has trained members of its Safety and Security Unit and Hostel Management Unit on campus intelligence, customer relationship management and effective service delivery as part of efforts to enhance campus safety and workplace excellence.
The capacity-building workshop, held at Adeline Hall in two batches to accommodate staff from the two units, was facilitated by Dr Ayobami Owolabi under the auspices of the Institute of Personality Development and Customer Relationship Management (IPDCRM).
The training, approved and sponsored by the university management, focused on equipping participants with practical knowledge, skills and professional attitudes required to perform their responsibilities more effectively.
The sessions covered the fundamentals of campus intelligence, SWOT analysis of campus intelligence, customer relationship management, reasons customers leave organisations, student relationship management and techniques for handling difficult customers.
Other areas included customer service attitude and evaluation, with emphasis on delivering quality services to students, parents, staff and other members of the university community.
The university said the training formed part of its commitment to creating a safe, welcoming and efficiently managed campus environment while strengthening staff capacity to respond effectively to the needs of stakeholders.
Participants also completed an “Attitudinal Checklist”, designed to assess their workplace attitudes and behaviour, evaluate their understanding of the training and identify areas requiring improvement.
The exercise, according to the organisers, was also intended to reinforce the lessons learnt and encourage participants to apply the knowledge and skills acquired to their respective responsibilities.
In attendance were the Head of Marketing and Alumni Relations, Dr Deborah Adejobi; Assistant Registrar in the Office of the Deputy Registrar, Corporate Communications and Students Services, Dr Henrietta Adeyemo; the university’s Chief Security Officer, Lt. Col. Oluade (rtd.); as well as the University Hostel Administrators/Heads, Mrs Josephine Adeoyo and Mr Olawale Akode.
The university said participants would receive Certificates of Attendance and Competence from IPDCRM in recognition of their participation and commitment to professional development and service excellence.
The training underscored Lead City University’s continued investment in staff development as part of efforts to improve campus safety, student relations and overall service delivery.
