Olajide, who represents Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, made the appeal shortly after observing the Jumat prayer at the Sabo Central Mosque, where he met with Islamic clerics, community leaders and worshippers.

Addressing the congregation, the federal lawmaker described himself as a brother in faith and urged members of the Muslim community to rally behind his aspiration and the Allied Peoples’ Movement.

“I am your brother in faith. I appeal to you in the name of Almighty Allah to stand by me and support the Allied Peoples’ Movement.

“With your prayers and support, I am confident that this mandate can be realised. On my honour, I will not disappoint you if given the opportunity to serve,” the lawmaker, who popularly known as Odidiomo, said.

Olajide noted that the cordial relationship between the people of Sabo and their host communities has continued to foster peaceful coexistence and strengthen political participation in Oyo State.

He described the Arewa community as a vital stakeholder in the state’s political landscape, acknowledging its consistent contribution to democratic development through active participation in elections and peaceful civic engagement.

The lawmaker urged residents to continue supporting leaders with proven records of inclusive representation, accountability and commitment to community development.

Reiterating his agenda for the senatorial district, Olajide pledged to sustain his people-oriented legislative interventions if elected to the Senate, promising to champion policies and programmes that would promote youth empowerment, educational advancement, economic opportunities, improved security and infrastructure development across the nine local government areas of Oyo South Senatorial District.

He stressed that his aspiration goes beyond politics, describing public service as a sacred responsibility rooted in justice, equity and compassion for all, irrespective of religion or ethnicity.

In a show of support for religious and community development, Olajide announced a donation of ₦10 million towards the ongoing development of the Sabo Central Mosque.

He said the contribution reflected his commitment to initiatives that promote faith, unity and community development.

Leaders of the mosque and members of the Muslim community expressed appreciation for the donation and commended the lawmaker for identifying with the community.
