Owoseni, who was regarded as one of Governor Makinde’s trusted allies, recently stepped down from his advisory role without publicly disclosing his next political destination.
However, political observers had linked his resignation to emerging tensions and recalibrations within the state’s ruling political structure.
Before his exit, Owoseni was widely believed to harbour governorship ambitions and was considered part of the inner circle of loyalists positioning for succession politics ahead of 2027.
His reported ambition was said to have suffered setbacks following the emergence of another key figure within the ruling camp as the preferred choice in early political calculations.
Meanwhile, his expected entry into the Accord Party is seen as a potential boost to the opposition’s structure in Oyo State, as parties begin early mobilisation ahead of the next general elections.
