Veteran Nollywood actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has reportedly died after battling stage-four cancer.
The 66-year-old Yoruba film star was reportedly pronounced dead on Sunday, August 23, 2026, while receiving treatment for the ailment. Multiple reports have emerged announcing his death, although confirmation from his immediate family was not immediately available.
The development came barely days after Ogogo’s family disclosed that the actor was battling stage-four cancer and appealed for urgent medical assistance from specialists and healthcare facilities.
His daughters, Lima and Kira Taiwo, had made emotional appeals for help, stressing that the family was primarily seeking appropriate medical intervention rather than financial donations.
Kira, in a statement on Sunday, had also alleged that some individuals were attempting to exploit the family’s difficult situation by offering expensive treatment options. She reiterated that the family’s immediate concern was finding appropriate treatment for her father.
Ogogo’s reported death is particularly poignant because his family had, on August 18, dismissed earlier reports of his death as false, urging the public to disregard unverified information.
