Adelabu made the call during his official declaration to contest the governorship ticket of the APC at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Liberty, Ibadan, where party faithful and supporters gathered for the event.

Speaking on the theme of unity, Adelabu urged party stakeholders to place the interest of the APC above personal ambition, stressing that the task of reclaiming power in Oyo State required cooperation and discipline among members.

“This project is bigger than one man. It is a collective mission. We must unite. We must close ranks. We must prioritise party supremacy, discipline and shared victory over individual ambition,” he said.

“There is no progress without unity. There is no victory without solidarity. I call on all APC leaders, aspirants, stakeholders and members: let us work together. Let us build together. Let us win together.”

The former minister said he decided to rejoin the governorship race because Oyo State deserves visionary leadership, competent governance, economic transformation and improved security.

According to him, governance must go beyond political rhetoric and deliver measurable development capable of improving the lives of residents.

Adelabu said he possesses the exposure, administrative capacity and tested leadership required to move the state “from potential to prosperity.”

He unveiled his development blueprint tagged “Oyo Rebirth Agenda,” which focuses on economic revival, massive job creation, agriculture, education reform, healthcare transformation, infrastructure development, youth and women empowerment, tourism and governance reforms.

The governorship aspirant promised to establish industrial and agro-processing hubs across the geopolitical zones of the state, launch a one million jobs initiative and support small businesses through grants, cooperative financing and low-interest loans.

He also pledged to strengthen security architecture, improve grassroots development through effective local government administration and promote social welfare for vulnerable groups.

Drawing inspiration from his grandfather, late nationalist and politician, Adegoke Adelabu, Adelabu said his ambition was rooted in a tradition of visionary and progressive leadership.

Describing the 2027 election as a defining moment for the future of the state, Adelabu said the contest goes beyond politics and centres on jobs, healthcare, education, security and restoring dignity to citizens.

“I offer myself not merely as a politician, but as a servant and a committed progressive determined to deliver results,” he said.

He appealed to residents of the state to support his ambition, expressing confidence that the APC would reclaim power in 2027 through unity and collective resolve.
