The Federal Character Commissioner representing Oyo State, Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Oyo State Government and security agencies for the successful rescue of teachers and pupils abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of the state.
In a statement issued on Friday through his media aide, Oladipo Adegoke, Abass-Aleshinloye described the operation as a demonstration of effective collaboration among the Federal Government, the Oyo State Government and security agencies in tackling insecurity.
He praised President Tinubu for providing what he described as the leadership and support that culminated in the successful rescue of the victims, while also applauding security operatives for rescuing them and arresting some of the suspected kidnappers.
According to him, the operation represents a significant boost for the country’s security architecture under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The former Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Oyo State also lauded the Oyo State Government for working closely with the Federal Government and security agencies, saying the coordinated response contributed to the successful outcome.
He said the operation underscored the importance of unity, cooperation and decisive leadership in addressing security challenges and protecting the lives of citizens.
Abass-Aleshinloye, however, urged security agencies to sustain the momentum by intensifying efforts to curb kidnapping and other violent crimes across the country.
He stressed that improved intelligence gathering, stronger inter-agency collaboration and greater community participation remained critical to winning the fight against insecurity.
The commissioner congratulated the rescued teachers, pupils and their families on their safe return, describing their reunion with loved ones as a source of relief and joy.
He also extended condolences to the families of the teacher and security personnel who lost their lives during the victims’ captivity, praying that God would grant the deceased eternal rest and comfort those they left behind.
Abass-Aleshinloye also urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements and activities to security agencies to strengthen efforts at preventing crime.
