The Oyo State Chapter of the Nigerian Economic Society (NES) has called on the people of the state and Nigerians as a whole to remain hopeful, resilient and productive despite prevailing economic challenges, expressing optimism that the country can achieve sustainable growth through sound policies, responsible leadership and citizens’ collective efforts.
In a New Month message jointly signed by the Acting Chairman of the chapter, Professor Oluwakemi Bolaji Okuwa, and the Secretary, Dr. Victoria Foye, the society welcomed its members, the academic community, policymakers, development partners and Nigerians to the month of August.
The chapter expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to witness a new month, urging Nigerians to embrace renewed hope, fresh opportunities and greater accomplishments.
According to the statement, resilience, innovation and commitment to productive endeavours remain critical to overcoming current economic challenges and fostering national development.
The society said it believes Oyo State and Nigeria can make meaningful progress towards sustainable economic growth and shared prosperity through the implementation of sound economic policies, responsible governance and active participation by citizens. It also reiterated its commitment to advancing economic research, promoting evidence-based public policy and encouraging constructive dialogue on issues capable of strengthening the nation’s economy and improving the welfare of the people.
The chapter wished its members and Oyo State residents good health, peace, wisdom, renewed opportunities and success throughout the month of August.
